Especially “trashy” locations need your help!
The Code Red cleanups are specific locations in need of your special attention. There are two Code Red sites on the Dominguez Channel (Wilmington Marina and the Artesia Transit Center), two on the L.A. River (at Elysian Park and Taylor Yard) and one at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park.
These locations are highly urbanized sites that drain huge swaths of Los Angeles County and are swamped with tons of harmful and unsightly plastic bags, fast-food packaging, shopping carts and other trash.
The inland waterways that crisscross the city may seem like dividers, but they also represent a shared responsibility for all Angelenos. The ocean starts at your front door, and we hope to educate and inspire the public by shining light on these neglected locations.
