Join Heal the Bay and Get Involved in Coastal Cleanup Day!

On Saturday, September 20th, from 9:00 a.m. till noon, over 11,000 volunteers from all over L.A. County will take action to rid our beaches and inland waterways of unsightly and harmful debris. Coastal Cleanup Day (CCD) is an international event with over ninety-one countries around the world participating, making it one of the largest volunteer efforts on the planet!

Come join us at one of over 70 cleanup locations throughout L.A. County.  Find the one nearest you and help clean our oceans and beautify your community.

Last year, over 11,000 volunteers from L.A. County joined together to pick up over 80,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from our beaches and waterways. This year, L.A. County will be picking up its one millionth pound!

Coastal Cleanup Day is a huge event, and we have lots of volunteer opportunities in addition to the cleanup itself. Check out the Participation page for more ways to help out.

Coastal Cleanup Day is a fun way for individuals, neighborhoods, schools, community and company volunteer groups to get involved and demonstrate their commitment to healthy water.  So bring your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to participate with the thousands of volunteers around the world in taking a stand against ocean pollution on Coastal Cleanup Day.

See you at the beach! (Or river, park, lake, or creek...)

California Coastal Cleanup Day is coordinated in Los Angeles County by Heal the Bay in conjunction with the California Coastal Commission and the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors.  For locations throughout the rest of California, please call 800-COAST-4U or visit the California Coastal Commission website.
