Join us at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium for a private painting class! This event is for Heal the Bay members only.
Lórien Eck, fine artist and educator, will facilitate an experiential creative workshop. Participants will be inspired to create an original and personal painting on reclaimed wood to capture the essence of their love for the ocean. Beginners/All levels are welcome!
Join Heal the Bay's Aquarium Volunteer Manager/Bird Enthusiast, Micky Kesterson, for a walk and conversation about the winter beach birds of Santa Monica. We'll meet at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, walk on the pier, then along the beach to the Pico-Kenter storm drain. It's a good idea to wear boots. If you have your own binoculars, you'll enjoy having them. If not, we have a few to share. THIS EVENT WILL HAPPEN RAIN OR SHINE. Micky says rainy days just mean less people and MORE BIRDS!
Happy 2016 Heal the Bay members! Looking for something interesting and educational to do this month?
We have all been hearing about the drought and being urged to take shorter showers and water less. What about longer term solutions? Join Heal the Bay's Water Education Specialist, Nancy Shrodes, for a tour and conversation about the future of L.A. water and it's connection to a healthier city and Bay. You are already recycling paper and soda cans, why not water? Come see how it's being done at West Basin!
Canine-loving Heal the Bay members unite! Let's celebrate the holidays, Los Angeles living, and our four-legged companions with fun in the sun!

After all of that medical waste washed up on our beaches this fall, did you find yourself wondering, how could this happen?! What happens to Los Angeles sewage waste before it is sent out into the ocean? How do these processes affect ocean life?
