VISIT THE AQUARIUM FOR SUMMER fun and education
See Santa Monica Bay in a whole new way! Heal the Bay’s Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is a science-based, environmental learning and public education facility.
With goals to raise awareness of the ocean environment, promote conservation through stewardship, and to teach marine science to the public, the Aquarium’s summer camps and field trips are a popular Heal the Bay educational program.
Science Adventures Camp
Enroll your child in a fun, educational marine science learning experience in our Science Adventures day camp at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. This camp is designed for children independent of their parents; each day is filled with a different marine-themed topic explored through games, crafts and laboratory experiences - in a setting that allows for interaction with more than 100 species of marine life. Is your budding scientist wowed by whales? We have a day devoted to the largest animals on the planet; kids can gnaw through the misconceptions about sharks on "Toothy Tuesday;" the North and South poles are two of the world's most challenging environments and we'll devote a day to learning about the animals that live at the extreme ends of the Earth. Please sign up your camper based on the grade they will be entering in Fall, 2014. Need-based scholarships and partial scholarships available. Fill out an application to be considered for this opportunity. Summer Camp Registration Form
Summer field trips for grades preK through 12th grade students and their teachers offer a fun, hands-on and interactive educational experience.During your program, your students have the exclusive use of the Aquarium as they examine the ocean animals and plants in our touch tanks and observe live animals in our other exhibits. A classroom component is designed to teach multi-grade level groups of students, engaging the youngest members of your group, while holding the attention of the oldest students as well. High School programs are tailored to meet the individualized needs of the teacher and complement the curriculum for those upper grade levels.
