OptimisSport endurance swimming competition featuring a 12.6-mile course, to be held October 16th in Santa Monica Bay from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Santa Monica Pier.
This is the inaugural year of the OptimisSport Distance Swim Challenge, an open-water endurance swim competition being held in the Santa Monica Bay on October 16, 2010. The competition has been designed to promote active and healthy lifestyles and to raise awareness about protecting water quality in our oceans.
All net proceeds from this event will go to Heal the Bay and other local charities that promote a healthy and active lifestyle, whether teaching us to take better care of our environment or to take better care of our bodies.
