Update: The date has been changed from August 25 to Sept 22, and the location has been confirmed for Homeboy Industries offices near downtown Los Angeles.
In October, the city of Los Angeles will update its stormwater regulations for the first time in 20 years. Learn how you can take part in this process to protect our oceans, creeks and rivers. This educational summit will give high school and college students the training and tools to fight for the public's right to cleaner waters as part of Heal the Bay's Take L.A. by Storm campaign.
The training will include details of L.A.'s stormwater problems, talks from empowering community guest speakers, breakout workshops on skills needed for the campaign, and information on future opportunities to get involved with Heal the Bay. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and students will receive community service hours for their participation.
Join the fight! This training is intended for high school and college students, and participants will be provided with additional volunteer opportunities following this event.
