UPDATE: The April 14 Malibu Creek State Park Restoration is cancelled due to rain
Due to concerns about volunteer safety and possible habitat damage during wet weather, we have decided to cancel the restoration event. These events occur the second Saturday of every month, so please feel free to sign up to volunteer for a future restoration event.
Come enjoy the outdoors and make a difference with Heal the Bay’s Stream Team! Heal the Bay is partnering with the Mountains Restoration Trust to restore areas of Malibu Creek State Park. Invasive plants have negative impacts on natural habitats, so removing them is vital for a healthy watershed. Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while helping remove non-native vegetation in an effort to restore native plants along Malibu Creek and its many tributaries.
Please wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water and a snack, bring sunscreen/hat and be prepared to get dirty. Gloves and tools will be provided. The work site is a 15 minute hike from the parking lot, and organizers and volunteers will leave for the work site promptly at 9:00 a.m.
NOTE: Ask for a parking pass for the Heal the Bay/Mountains Restoration Trust restoration event at the front gate. We'll meet in the lower parking lot at the picnic tables near the restroom.
This event is open to all ages, but volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Those under 18 must have their waiver forms (also available at the event) signed by a parent or guardian.
Space is limited, we are accepting volunteers on a first come/first served basis - sign up now.
