Your input is needed as LADWP develops its Stormwater Capture Master Plan (SCMP) to identify opportunities for stormwater capture, increase Los Angeles’ local water supply and reduce the dependence on imported water. Public participation is critical to the success of the master planning process.
"Stormwater capture" involves capturing precious rainfall and runoff from open space and urban lands for either direct use or allowing the water to percolate into groundwater basins for future use. The SCMP will be an outline of LADWP’s strategies to implement stormwater and watershed management programs and projects in the City of Los Angeles. LADWP began its initial research for the SCMP in Fall 2013 and is expected to complete a final plan by mid-2015. For more information visit www.LADWP.com/stormwater or call (213) 367-1289.
