CA Fish Eaters Put at Greater Risk After State Relaxes Weekly Consumption Limits
Posted: June 27, 2008
In a bid to get individuals to eat more fish as part of a healthier diet, the state Office of Health Hazard Environmental Assessment (OHHEA) issued a report relaxing the recommended weekly limits it had placed on the consumption of locally caught fish. However,
the new limits dramatically downplay the risks associated with eating pollution-contaminated fish, marking a significant decrease in public health protection.

Posted: January 22, 2008
Marking a significant blow to the Southland environment and economy, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today caved to industry lobby pressure and approved a half-hearted measure to curb plastic shopping bag use.
