Camp Kid

Daily events, camps, classes, field trips–the Aquarium has it all!

Education is a top priority at Heal the Bay's Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Whether you visit our marine education center on a school field trip, attend an evening lecture, enroll your budding young scientist in a Micro Bio class or sign her up for Science Adventures Camp, you will leave the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium with a new sense of wonder and appreciation for the amazing marine life of the Santa Monica Bay. Science Adventures Camp 

Our weeklong summer camp for students in K-5th  grade focuses on a different marine science topic each week. Now offered during Spring Break for students in 1st-4th grade, with brand new curriculum for new and returning campers.

 

Summer Camp

When: 1 weeklong spring session, 5 weeklong summer sessions
Where: Santa Monica Pier Aquarium
Duration: 9:00am-2:00pm each day camp is in session
Cost: $325 (nonmembers) or $300 (members) per week, or $70 per day (Spring only)

Aquarium Field Trips 

Hands-on learning and classroom enrichment at our marine science center under the Santa Monica Pier.

Micro Bio Classes

An introduction to marine science through games, stories and art projects.

When: Select Mondays every month, 9:30pm-11:30am OR 2:00pm-4:00pm
Where: Santa Monica Pier Aquarium

Key to the Sea

Heal the Bay’s flagship marine science education program for K-5 also includes professional development for  teachers. This immersive, multi-disciplinary curriculum focuses on local marine and watershed habitats, pollution prevention and fostering environmental stewardship.

When: Varies; workshops available during the school year
Where: Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, or a partner aquarium
Duration: Full-day for students; 1-2 additional workshops for educators
Cost: FREE; some field trip locations may require additional fees
To register:
 1. Schedule a field trip for students at one of four local aquaria
 2. Once your field trip is confirmed, teachers can register for a professional development workshop
