Attention K-5th grade Educators! We will be hosting free Teacher Professional Development Workshops on Saturday, February 23, at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro. LAUSD salary points are given for attendance at the workshop(s).
Key to the Sea teacher workshops for K-5th grade are free and offers hands-on standards aligned curriculum on watersheds, urban runoff, impacts to marine life, solutions to ocean pollution, and more. Teachers are also provided with lunch and a tote bag filled with teaching supplies. After completing the workshop, teachers can take students to one of our partnering aquariums for their Key to Sea field trip.
How to Attend This Workshop
Pre-registration is required. Workshops and field trips occur during the traditional (September - June) school year at partnering aquaria throughout LA County. Follow these steps to participate:

Key to the Sea is Heal the Bay's marine environmental education program for teachers and elementary school children (K-5) throughout Los Angeles County. Engaging hands-on educational activities for students, including a field trip to the beach, as well as exciting professional development opportunities for teachers are hallmarks of the program. Topics include watersheds, the storm drain system, ocean pollution and solutions, environmental stewardship, and the sandy beach.
