What is A Day With a Bag? A citywide day of education on November 18, readying Thanksgiving shoppers and retailers for the implementation of the City of Los Angeles’ single-use, plastic shopping bag ban that begins on January 1, 2014. After years of hard work, the City is now poised to follow a more sustainable path, where shoppers bring reusable bags to the store as part of their normal daily routine.
In affiliation with Heal the Bay and Kona, Surf Fest at The Crest rides on with the feature film DRIFT on Friday, September 27th followed by a Q&A with Co-Directors Morgan O'Neill and Ben Nott.
DRIFT is a 2013 Australian film about the birth of the surf industry in the 1970s. It was shot in Western Australia and co-directed by Morgan O'Neill and Ben Nott and starring Sam Worthington, Xavier Samuel and Myles Pollard.
Come be the judge as your favorite local breweries (El Segundo, Monkish, The Dudes, Smog City, Strand, and Abigaile) battle it out in an epic battle of chili-making mastery! There will also be a raffle.
