Marin County's water quality monitoring program gathered data from 25 bayside and oceanside monitoring locations. Ocean locations included: Dillon Beach, Bolinas Beach (Wharf Road), Stinson Beach, Muir Beach, Rodeo Beach, and Baker Beach. These locations were monitored on a weekly basis from April through October. During the winter season there was limited monitoring or no monitoring at all. For additional
water quality information visit the Marin
County Department
of Environmental
Health website.
Summer dry weather water quality at most beaches in Marin County was excellent. All ocean and bayside monitoring locations received an A (84%) or B (16%) (Figures 9 and 10). Popular beach locations, like Rodeo, Stinson, and Muir, all received As. Three locations that saw substantial water quality improvement this year compared to last year were: Baker Beach Horseshoe Cove NE (C to B), Chicken Ranch Beach at the channel (C to A), and Muir Beach north (F to A).
There was an insufficient amount of non-AB411 dry weather, and wet weather data for further analysis.
