Del Norte County
Analysis

Historically, Del Norte County has monitored three locations in the Crescent City area: Pebble Beach, Crescent City Harbor, and Crescent Beach. In the past, the County of Humboldt was implementing the water quality monitoring program for Del Norte County. However, this apparently changed two years ago, with the County of Del Norte subcontracting the monitoring program to the Yurok tribe. In the past, monitoring was conducted from April through October on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, Heal the Bay has been unsuccessful for the past two years in obtaining data to include in this report. This monitoring program has been funded by the Environmental Protection Agency's National Beach Guidance and Performance Criteria for Recreational Waters program.

Sewage Spill Summary
The county did not provide Heal the Bay with a summary of beach closures due to sewage spills.
