A Day Without A Bag

A Day Without a Bag — Dec 20, 2007
Thanks to all the government officials, retailers, community group partners, volunteers and citizens who made “A Day Without a Bag” on Dec 20th a resounding success.

Tens of thousands of bags were handed out at more than a dozen locations throughout Los Angeles County. More importantly, significant T.V., radio and web coverage spread our message to millions of shoppers.

This inaugural event laid a strong foundation for subsequent campaigns against the proliferation of single-use shopping bags. Check our site for regular updates and action alerts. Keep up the fight – the tide is turning in our favor!

L.A.'s Environmental Affairs Department is Saved!

The Los Angeles City Environmental Affairs Department has suffered major budget cuts, but remains intact. Thanks to everyone who sent Action Alert letters to mayor Hahn requesting that the environmental conscience of the City be preserved, and remain an operational department of City governance.

Thank you!
