Social Media Internship Heal the Bay is looking for a responsible, dedicated intern to work with our Interactive Campaigns Manager. Intern will be responsible for helping with social media outreach including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, as well as maintaining an online image catalog. You will also have an opportunity to help with media outreach, research, public relations materials, advertising opportunities, and our quarterly newsletter. |

Programs Department Internship Heal the Bay is looking for an organized and responsible person (bilingual preferred) capable of working in a fast-paced environment to recruit and coordinate volunteers for our various volunteer programs and to strengthen our Inland Outreach strategies. In addition, the Programs Intern will be working closely with the Programs Department staff to coordinate successful events. |

Coastal Cleanup Day (CCD) Internship Heal the Bay is looking for 3 to 4 well organized individuals capable of to help recruit and coordinate volunteers for the 28th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, to be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Every year Heal the Bay organizes thousands of volunteers to come out and clean more than sixty beach and inland sites. |

Development Department Internship Heal the Bay is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Development Department intern to support the annual fundraising event, Bring Back the Beach. The intern will also maintain Salesforce entry, research corporate giving programs and private foundations, contact potential supporters regarding donor opportunities, and assist with contracts and document creation. |

Science & Policy: MPA Watch Internship Heal the Bay’s Science & Policy Department is looking for organized and highly self-motivated individuals to work with our Marine & Coastal Scientist and Director of Coastal Resources on our MPA Watch program. Candidates would ideally be interested in marine protected areas (MPAs), coastal conservation, fieldwork, have a science background, and be willing to commit to at least 10 hours/week during the school-year or 20 hours/week during the summer. Responsibilities would include but not limited to: performing beach surveys for our MPA Watch program, organizing MPA Watch program data, and assisting with development of program materials. |

Young Children Science Education Internship The young children science education intern will work closely with the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium’s Monday “Micro Biologists” program for 3-5 year olds. We are looking for responsible, dedicated, and outgoing interns who enjoy working with young children. Aquarist Internship The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is looking for responsible, dedicated, assertive interns to work with our Senior Aquarist, other staff and volunteers. Interns are required to attend the training sessions, however may start the internship before completing the training. Coastal Cleanup Ed Day Internship Heal the Bay is looking for an responsible person capable of working in a fast-paced environment to help organize, plan and coordinate our ninth annual Coastal Cleanup Education Day on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013. Aquarium Programs Internship The Aquarium Programs Intern will assist with the development and operations of the Aquarium’s public visiting hours and programs. We are looking for responsible, dedicated, and outgoing interns to work with the public programs department. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in marine science, environmental education, program development and management, operating and working at an aquarium, and working for an environmental non-profit group. |

Social Media Internship The Social Media Intern will help in the research and development of content for the Aquarium’s social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and the blog. Interns will also assist with the monitoring and tracking of the effectiveness of these platforms. Past experience with social technologies is a must and applicants should submit a list of personal social media accounts maintained with their cover letter and application. We are also looking for a candidate with strong writing skills as well as experience in photography, videography and/or graphic design/Photoshop.
