Spanish Communications Internship Heal the Bay is looking for an organized, responsible, bilingual individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment to assist Heal the Bay’s Spanish Communications Coordinator with our Spanish language outreach strategies. In addition, the Spanish Communications Intern will be working closely with our Programs Department staff to coordinate successful Spanish language volunteer events. This part-time, non-commissioned (unpaid, but ask your school about credit!) intern position (minimum of 9 hr/week; flexible hours) is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Spanish communications and its applications to the environmental field. This internship would begin as soon as possible and would last for a minimum amount of 2 months time. Attendance at some weekend and evening events may be necessary. |

Communications Department Internship Heal the Bay is looking for a responsible, dedicated intern to work with our Communications Director. Intern will be responsible for creating, organizing and maintaining an online image catalog, as well as organizing and stocking communications materials. You will also have an opportunity to help with media outreach, research, public relations materials, advertising opportunities, and our quarterly newsletter. |

Programs Department Internship Heal the Bay is looking for an organized and responsible person (bilingual preferred) capable of working in a fast-paced environment to recruit and coordinate volunteers for our various volunteer programs and to strengthen our Inland Outreach strategies. In addition, the Programs Intern will be working closely with the Programs Department staff to coordinate successful events. |

Development Department Internship This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in fundraising and relationship-building via donor and corporate communications and special event planning. Activities include: Assisting with Special Events including the Bring Back the Beach Dinner; Researching corporate giving programs Researching public and private foundations; Assisting with mailings; Filing, organizing, labeling; Assessing database needs and helping with data entry. |

Key to the Sea Internship
Heal the Bay is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Key to the Sea interns to teach and/or assist with field trips on the beach. Interns must be energetic, passionate about environmental stewardship, and skilled at teaching elementary school children. Interns must be flexible; field trips take place various days and times, Mondays – Fridays, 9am-3pm, on an irregular basis. |

Summer Education Programs Internship Heal the Bay is looking for a summer intern to assist the Education Department in the coordination and management of two programs: Key to the Sea and Coastal Cleanup Education Day. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable intern to work closely with staff in the preparation, coordination, and overall management of these programs. The internship is from May to September, with some flexibility. The internship will average 10 hours a week, however the time commitment may fluctuate a bit through the months depending on workload. |

Science & Policy: MPA Watch Internship Heal the Bay’s Science & Policy Department is looking for organized and highly self-motivated individuals to work with our Marine & Coastal Scientist and Director of Coastal Resources on our MPA Watch program. Candidates would ideally be interested in marine protected areas (MPAs), coastal conservation, fieldwork, have a science background, and be willing to commit to at least 10 hours/week during the school-year or 20 hours/week during the summer. Responsibilities would include but not limited to: performing beach surveys for our MPA Watch program, organizing MPA Watch program data, and assisting with development of program materials. |

Young Children Science Education Internship The young children science education intern will work closely with the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium’s Monday “Micro Biologists” program for 3-5 year olds. We are looking for responsible, dedicated, and outgoing interns who enjoy working with young children. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education, program development, marine science and working for an environmental non-profit group. |

Aquarist Internship The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is looking for responsible, dedicated, assertive interns to work with our Senior Aquarist, other staff and volunteers. Interns are required to attend the training sessions, however may start the internship before completing the training. Interns will assist with exhibit maintenance, animal feeding and care, occasional collecting, and perform other duties related to the Aquarist Department. |

Education Department Internship The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is looking for motivated, dedicated, and responsible interns who love to work with children. If you love to spend time on the beach, play with animals, and work with children, this is the internship for you! Interns are needed to assist in the multifaceted processes of organizing and facilitating our education school field trip programs. Interns will also pursue projects that are mutually beneficial to both the Aquarium and the interns. |
